// Matt Mair Lowery // User Experience Consulting and Design Portfolio
Project: Cardsmith (2019 -2020)
Matt provides ongoing user experience guidance at both the holistic and micro/feature level to Cardsmith, a brainstorming and collaboration web app. Initial engagements in this ongoing relationship included bringing a user-centered design methodology to the revision of existing sign-up/on-boarding workflows and implementing contemporary designs, all with the goal of increasing new user conversions.
Since Cardsmith's initial designer was primarily a print designer and not a UX specialist, the user-centered design approach was new to the team members at Cardsmith. So, one of the primary tasks of this work has been guiding and documenting product development discussions at all stages of the process, enabling stakeholders to visualize the product’s user experience as clearly as possible.
It has also been several years since the company's brand identity was created. So, Matt worked on extending and updating the company's existing branding elements to create clean new designs for multiple product areas and features and for the company’s website. In this portion of the effort Matt produced workflows, wireframes and designs for features to be developed by third-party developer Olio Apps (with whom Matt worked directly on the implementation of the designs and features).

DESIGNS
Updates to sign up screens supported Google account integration and brought in a more contemporary look and feel.
A post-sign up screen allows users to create a team and enable collaboration right out of the gate, and also communicates a small wealth of information in as clean a manner as possible.
At the end of the sign up process, users are presented with app feature highlights in a carousel.
